Did I blink and miss March? Somehow it’s April! I had an amazing, but bittersweet trip down to UCLA last month for part 3 of my skincare ingredients course. My teacher and mentor is retiring and leaving the country. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from her for over 20 years. Once again, we had so much material we couldn’t get to it all, so there will be 6 more hours taught online over the next few months.😅 Over in my professional-facing business, it’s also been non-stop! I launched webinars for esthetic professionals 2 weeks ago, and am heading to North Carolina to lead a breakout session at an esthetic retreat in early May. What’s Going On with Tariffs? A lot of you are asking me about this! The situation seems to be changing every few days, which is making it hard for me and all of my vendors to project costs. Here’s what I know:
- The cost of everything is going up. Despite over 85% of my product offerings being manufactured in the States, ingredient sourcing is global, and many packaging components are not produced here at all. Changes to that will take years, not months.
- I will always be completely transparent about price increases, giving you time to purchase before they go into effect.
- I am doing my best to “stock up”, but there is a limit to how much I can bring on board for retail and backbar to ensure not only that product doesn’t sit, but what is financially viable for my small business.
- There will be no blanket increase in product prices, it will always be on a case-by-case basis.
