About Me
For over 25 years, I’ve been a licensed skin therapist based in San Francisco. I have helped hundreds of clients achieve their desired goals and objectives with customized skin care treatments and home care regimens. With a strong belief that skin care is a critical component of an overall wellness program, my goal is to treat every client with dedicated attention and respect in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment. I founded my practice with the core belief that the essential blend of science, nature, and touch is the key to lasting results and long-term relationships with my clients.
In 1999, I received my Esthetician’s license from the State of California. Before my licensing, I received a BA with distinction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where I also attended graduate school focusing on communicative disorders.
In the spring of 2024, I published Skinthesis: The Esthetician’s Guide to Mastering Client Experience and Management. A comprehensive roadmap for licensed professionals, it explores the delicate balance between exceptional customer service and effective client management, and how the two are inextricably tied. The launch coincided with the founding of Synthesis CX Consulting, offering personalized consulting services and classes for esthetic professionals - specializing in client experience and management.
I love the wealth of educational opportunities in the Bay Area and around the country, and I regularly attend skin care seminars, conferences, and online education. I have attended all sections of Skin Care Ingredients for Cosmetic Professionals at UCLA extension multiple times, taught by industry legend Rebecca Gadberry, and have received advanced training in oncology esthetics from Oncology Spa Solutions. I believe that ongoing advanced education, in a field with rapidly changing technological developments, is of the utmost importance as clients frequently look to me as a resource. I also rely on my clients–they still provide my greatest source of education and inspiration and teach me something new every day.
I enjoy sharing information outside the walls of my practice when invited out to speak to various groups, and launched my blog, The Dermis, in 2014.
